Contract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care across a high-volume Emergency Department serving both adult and pediatric populations, with approximately 325 visits per day across both ERs
• Perform triage and manage a caseload of patients ranging from minor walk-ins to critically ill presentations including respiratory failure, STEMI, CVA, fractures, and substance abuse cases
• Float between Adult ER and Pediatric ER as needed; some nurses may be assigned exclusively to one area or rotate between both
• Manage ER holds intermixed within the department, maintaining independent oversight of assigned hold patients
• Complete EKG interpretation requirements during orientation, including advanced curricula for critical care RNs covering STEMI and Procedural Sedation protocols
• Adhere to department scheduling requirements including a minimum of four weekend shifts per month and holiday coverage as assigned; must maintain flexibility with shift scheduling as no block scheduling is offered

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Room experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered
• Must have experience with both adult and pediatric ER patient populations; candidates assigned to Pediatric ER must have significant pediatric ER experience, not general pediatric experience alone
• Must have prior triage experience
• Active RN licensure (or eligibility) in California
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS
• Experience in high-volume emergency settings with patient volumes comparable to this facility

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Familiarity with Cerner EMR
• Experience with Phillips telemetry monitoring and EKG strip interpretation
• Experience with procedural sedation and advanced critical care protocols in an emergency setting
