RN - Inpatient Rehabilitation Nurse

Deliver professional nursing care to patients in an inpatient rehabilitation setting under physician guidance. This role involves mentoring and training new staff and students, performing nursing duties within the scope of practice, and maintaining comprehensive care plans tailored to patient needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide patient-centered care promoting independence by setting care goals and involving patients and families in discussions about medical issues, testing, medications, and self-care.
• Administer and evaluate medications accurately and timely, managing medication orders effectively.
• Educate patients and families on physical, emotional, and psychosocial aspects of care, including disease processes, symptom and pain management, and end-of-life signs when appropriate.
• Complete timely and accurate documentation following organizational policies.
• Observe and report changes in patients' physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual conditions.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with privacy regulations regarding Protected Health Information (PHI).
• Foster effective communication and professional relationships with patients, families, healthcare team members, and external agencies.

Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Licenses and Certifications: Current Registered Nurse licensure in a compact state required. BLS/CPR certification required within 30 days of hire or by orientation end. Additional certifications such as ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, NIHSS, or AWHONN may be required depending on department policy.

Experience: Previous experience in a similar healthcare environment is preferred.

Skills and Abilities: Strong nursing principles application, effective communication, computer literacy, multitasking, and prioritization skills.

Physical Requirements: Ability to perform heavy work occasionally exerting up to 100 lbs and frequently up to 20 lbs. Standing or walking for 51-75% of the workday.
