Young Adults Director/Pastor - Englewood

I. Summary of the position:

The Young Adult Director position will lead, disciple, and develop young adults (typically ages 18-25), creating relational and biblical environments that help them grow as followers of Jesus Christ and become actively engaged in the life, discipleship, service and mission of BRAVE Church. The Young Adult Director will serve as a shepherd, mentor, and ministry leader for young adults.

II. Key Responsibilities:

Spiritual Leadership

· Provide biblical teaching and discipleship for young adults.

· Model a Christ-centered lifestyle and spiritual maturity.

· Encourage prayer, worship, and personal spiritual growth.

· Provide biblical encouragement, discipleship, prayer, and appropriate pastoral soul care while connecting individuals with pastors or other resources when needs extend beyond the scope of the position and/or coaches/leadership abilities.

Ministry Development

· Develop and execute a ministry strategy for Young Adults that aligns with BRAVE’s overall ministry philosophy and Cadre model.

· Create relational on-ramps that connect Young Adults into Cadres, biblical community, serving opportunities, and the broader life of BRAVE Church.

· Plan and lead Young Adult gatherings and BRAVE-sponsored events as directed and appropriate to the ministry strategy.

· Evaluate ministry effectiveness and recommend adjustments that strengthen discipleship, engagement, and leadership development.

· Anticipates ministry needs, identifies opportunities and potential challenges, and proactively develops solutions in alignment with the direction of the Campus Pastor and BRAVE leadership.

Ministry Communication

· Develop and draft Young Adult Ministry communications and, when church-wide communication is needed, coordinate with the Communications team for review, approval, and distribution.

· Maintain consistent communication with Young Adult leaders, volunteers, participants, and appropriate BRAVE staff.

Leadership Development

· Recruit, train, equip, and develop volunteer leaders and coaches.

· Identify and develop Young Adults who demonstrate potential for leadership.

· Develop leaders who can lead and multiply Young Adult Cadres and other ministry environments.

· Build a sustainable leadership pipeline that allows the ministry to grow through equipped leaders rather than depending solely on the Director.

· Accountable for assigned Young Adult Ministry initiatives from planning through execution and follow-up.

· Establish ministry goals, track participation and engagement, and provide appropriate updates to the Campus Pastor.

· Proactively follow up with leaders and Young Adults to ensure ministry objectives and action items are carried through to completion.

Community Building

· Create welcoming environments where young adults can build authentic relationships.

· Connect college students, young professionals, singles, married couples, and young families into church life.

· Encourage participation in small groups and church-wide ministries.

Outreach and Evangelism

· Develop outreach initiatives that connect with unchurched young adults.

· Encourage evangelism and community engagement.

· Build relationships with local colleges, universities, and community organizations where appropriate.

Church Integration

· Actively connect Young Adults into the broader life of BRAVE through Cadres, serving, worship gatherings, First Tuesday, BRAVE-sponsored events, and other appropriate ministry opportunities.

· Collaborate with Adult Ministry, Campus Pastors, and other ministry departments to ensure Young Adult Ministry supports rather than operates separately from BRAVE’s overall ministry strategy.

· Participate in and support events associated with the BRAVE Rhythm and BRAVE-sponsored events as directed.

· Coordinate Young Adult participation and volunteer engagement in applicable BRAVE events and ministry initiatives.

III. Qualifications:

Spiritual Qualifications

· Demonstrates a clear and growing relationship with Jesus Christ.

· Agrees with and supports the church's doctrinal statement and ministry philosophy.

· Exhibits Christian character consistent with biblical leadership standards.

· Passionate about discipleship, evangelism, and developing young adults.

Education & Experience

· Bachelor's degree in Ministry, Theology, Biblical Studies, or a related field preferred.

· Seminary training or theological education preferred.

· Minimum of 2-5 years of ministry experience, preferably with young adults or college-age ministries.

· Experience leading teams and volunteers.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

· Demonstrated ability to lead, disciple, and develop people and volunteer teams.

· Strong biblical teaching and communication skills.

· Strong relational, organizational, administrative, and conflict-resolution skills.

· Demonstrated ability to manage time, priorities, projects, and ministry responsibilities effectively.

· Ability to learn and effectively use BRAVE’s ministry systems, including Rock RMS and Microsoft Office.

· Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.

· Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, fluid ministry environment with flexibility for evenings and weekends.
