Job Overview Enthusiastic small animal/mixed animal veterinary assistant needed for our expanding practice on the beautiful Southern Oregon coast with access to the beach, redwoods, and wild coastal rivers. Our modern facility includes surgical CO2 laser, therapy laser, full IDEXX in‑house laboratory equipment, Oncura ultrasound, NewTom cone beam CT, digital x‑ray (large, small, and dental), and an endoscope. We also offer acupuncture and stem cell therapy. We primarily see small animals, with some equine, bovine, small ruminants, and exotics. We are open seven days a week; on‑call and weekend rotation is shared equally among all veterinary staff. This position is part‑time (usually 20–40 hours per week) and provides competitive compensation with wage based on experience, health insurance, retirement, sick leave, and paid vacation. Responsibilities Provide support in the hands‑on care of small, medium, and large animal patients. Assist in procedures, client communication, and other duties as required. Perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 40 lbs, bending, and stair climbing. Work outdoors as needed. Qualifications Previous veterinary experience (1 year preferred). Veterinary assistant experience (1 year preferred). Good communication skills, organized, and able to multitask. Positive, team‑oriented attitude. Physical ability to lift 40 lbs and work outdoors.
