Technician/Machine Operator (1st Shift)

Triumvirate Environmental, one of the largest environmental services firms in North America, is seeking an onsite Technician/Machine Operator for our Pennsylvania recycling operation. This position reports to the Shift Supervisor. The pay rate for this position is $19.00/hr, with a schedule of 6:00 am‑3:00 pm, Monday through Friday. This position offers the opportunity to earn an additional $2.00 per hour within your first year of employment through our structured tier advancement program. Key Responsibilities Operate, maintain, and set up various shredding, grinding, and cleaning machines. Unload and load trailers. Clear jams and clean the machine daily in conjunction with the maintenance department. Resolve day‑to‑day operational and maintenance issues. Monitor machine performance and condition, notifying maintenance of any problems. Calibrate probes and monitor pH of processed waste. Read and understand work orders, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Maintain a clean work area and tools on a daily basis. Wear all required PPE. Other duties as assigned. Basic Requirements High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to operate large precision shop machinery. Strong aptitude in problem solving and process improvement. Ability to articulate problems and solutions. Sense of urgency and personal initiative related to problem resolution duties with follow‑through and professionalism. Self‑motivated and capable of managing stressful situations. Strong commitment to safety. Collaborate effectively with team members. Open to learning by adapting to new processes, incorporating constructive feedback, and taking initiative to develop skills and expertise. Ability to lift 50 pounds repetitively. Ability to work overtime. Role is considered safety‑sensitive. Reliable form of transportation. Eligible to work in the United States without future sponsorship. Preferred Requirements Previous manufacturing experience. Experience in a manufacturing environment where hearing protection, safety glasses, and steel‑toed boots are required. Familiarity with large facilities (approximately 100,000 square feet). Experience working in environments with seasonal temperature and weather variations. Experience with frequent radio communication between operators and managers. Comfortable working in a teamwork‑centered atmosphere with over 100 employees.
