Otr Cdl-A Driver - Steady Freight

Job Overview Classic Carriers, a family‑owned company based in Versailles, OH with more than 40 years of experience, is hiring on‑route (OTR) CDL‑A drivers for lanes from OH & IN to the Mid‑Atlantic, Southeast, and Upper Midwest. Drivers will operate tractor‑trailer combinations with reefer units and will be responsible for hauling heavy refrigerated freight. Responsibilities Operate tractor‑trailer combination with reefer unit Perform daily pre‑trip and safety inspections on equipment Hook and unhook trailers Verify and complete required documentation and reports Maintain accurate daily logs Communicate with dispatch as required Demonstrate excellent customer service Comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies Perform other duties as required Qualifications Valid Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL) At least two years of recent verifiable driving experience (military experience may be included) Minimum age 21 years Acceptable motor vehicle record (MVR) with no more than one 15‑mph over‑speeding citation in the past 3 years No DOT preventable, recordable accidents in the last 5 years No felonies Meet all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulatory requirements under Section 391 of the FMC regulations Pay & Bonuses Frills Package – base rate using dispatched practical miles: Starting pay $0.56 CPM 6 months $0.58 CPM 12 months $0.60 CPM 24 months $0.62 CPM Additional stops/pickups $25 each Detention pay $20 per hour (starting one hour after appointment time) Layover pay $150 per night Holiday pay $150 per holiday (Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s Day) Weekend delivery bonus $100 NYC trip bonus $150 (optional) Longevity bonus $0.02 CPM per dispatched practical mile (quarterly) Safety bonus $0.03 CPM per dispatched practical mile (quarterly, if qualified) Benefits Health insurance after 30 days Dental and life insurance $20,000 after 30 days Short‑Term Disability insurance after 30 days 401(k) with company match Paid vacation and 401(k) benefits in the Frills Package Per diem $80 per night on the road Equipment & Perks 2021 or newer Freightliner Cascadia with automatic transmission, refrigerated unit, 1500 W inverter, optimized idle system Family rider policy after 90 days (immediate family only, age 14+) Pets allowed (dogs and cats under 40 lb with deposit) Optional streaming TV service in truck ($15.63 weekly deduction, reimbursed at quarter’s end when qualifying for safety bonus) Access to driver lounge with shower, free laundry facilities, kitchen, cable TV, and recliners Disclaimer This job description is general and does not constitute a comprehensive inventory of all duties required of employees assigned to this position. #J-18808-Ljbffr
