Join a growing job-shop environment as a Welder, performing a mix of TIG and MIG welding on mild steel, aluminum, and stainless steel to produce a wide variety of custom metal parts and display components. You will work from blueprints in a fast-paced setting, contributing to diverse projects and collaborating closely with a skilled fabrication team.

Responsibilities

• Perform TIG (approximately 60%) and MIG (approximately 40%) welding on mild steel, aluminum, and stainless steel components.
• Read and interpret blueprints to understand project specifications, dimensions, and weld requirements.
• Set up, operate, and adjust welding equipment and tools to ensure high-quality welds and consistent output.
• Measure and verify materials using tape measures and other tools to maintain accuracy and adherence to design requirements.
• Work on a variety of projects in a job-shop environment where parts and assignments can change regularly.
• Collaborate with fabrication and production teams to complete jobs efficiently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
• Inspect finished welds for quality, accuracy, and adherence to safety and company standards.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper handling of sheet metal and other materials.
• Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while operating welding and fabrication equipment.
• Adapt to changing priorities and project requirements while maintaining a high level of craftsmanship.

Essential Skills

• 1+ year of experience in TIG or MIG welding in a production or fast-paced welding environment.
• Proficiency in MIG welding on mild steel and other common metals.
• Proficiency in TIG welding, particularly on stainless steel, aluminum, and mild steel.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints accurately.
• Experience working with sheet metal in a fabrication setting.
• Strong tape measure and basic measurement skills for precise layout and fit-up.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced welding and fabrication role.
• Ability to follow safety protocols and operate welding equipment responsibly.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Technical degree or formal training in fabrication or welding.
• Experience with both MIG and TIG welding processes.
• Experience in general metal fabrication and working with updated shop equipment.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse, bilingual team.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saint Michael, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $32.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
