Registered Nurse – Emergency Room (Level 3)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Rotating Shifts (Days/Evenings/Nights) | Expected 36–48 hours/week | Floating, Weekends, Holidays, On-Call, Callback, and Charge responsibilities per unit needs

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a high-volume, fast-paced Adult Emergency Department managing more than 100,000 visits annually
• Deliver nursing care to a diverse patient population within one of the busiest trauma centers in the country, operating as the only Level I trauma facility in the area
• Assist with the management and care of boarder patients as needed
• Perform telemetry monitoring and interpretation as part of routine patient assessment
• Fulfill charge nurse responsibilities and float to areas based on unit needs

Required Qualifications

• Active New York State RN License (NY license required — no other state licenses accepted)
• Minimum of two (2) years of Emergency Department experience
• Telemetry experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience in an Emergency Room setting required — this position is not able to support first-time travelers
• BLS certification (American Heart Association only)
• ACLS certification (American Heart Association only)
• NIHSS certification required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience working in a Level I trauma center environment
• Comfort with high patient volumes and rapidly changing acuity levels
• Experience in charge nurse or leadership roles within an ED setting
