General Statement

Adjunct instructors are hired based on the needs of the institution, which are evaluated every semester in each of these areas: General Education, Business, Technology & Transfer; Trades; and Health Sciences.
In some instances, specific open adjunct positions will be advertised on our job seekers webpage. However, because our needs can change quickly and because we may not advertise an opening, having your application on file with us in an Adjunct Faculty pool may be beneficial!

Duties and Responsibilities

• Preparing and teaching subject matter content to traditional and nontraditional students.
• Assist with syllabus preparation and developing curriculum.
• Ability to stay current in field.
• Contribute to an effective work atmosphere by interacting positively and appropriately with students, co-workers, supervisors and visitors.

Required Qualifications - Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills


Required qualifications for adjunct teaching positions vary depending on the type of openings available and are based on the Montana Board of Regent's Policy 730.

Preferred Qualifications - Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills

1. Master's or Doctorate degree(s) in industry or related field;
2. Appropriate industry or field certifications (if applicable);
3. Related work experience in degree area, industry or field of expertise;
4. Successful teaching experience face to face and/or online;
5. Experience in Higher Education, two-year college, or Community College setting.
6. Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office Suite.
