Peer Support Specialist-Foster Care (Union County, NC)

Peer Support Specialist - Foster Care Location: Union County, North Carolina (North Carolina residency required). Field: This field-based role enables associates to primarily operate in the field, traveling to client sites or designated locations as their role requires, with occasional office attendance for meetings or training. Alternate locations may be considered if candidates reside within a commuting distance from an office. If not within a reasonable commuting distance, candidates will not be considered unless an accommodation is granted as required by law. Hours: Standard business hours, Monday through Friday. Travel: Some travel within your assigned region (facility or home visits) is expected. How You Will Make An Impact Engage in general outreach, engagement, and follow-up with members and their caregivers and families to support care management efforts. Support care managers as they advocate for foster parents and other caregivers, addressing their needs or challenges with various agencies and systems. Coordinate services and appointments, such as wellness reminders and arranging transportation. Assist the care manager in assessing and addressing unmet health-related need. Minimum Requirements High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or a combination of education and experience that provides an equivalent background. Preferred Skills, Capabilities And Experiences Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Teams) highly preferred. Proven experience navigating healthcare software platforms is preferred. Prior experience or practical knowledge of foster care, social services, DSS, or child welfare systems is highly preferred.
