Senior Tax Accountant

Job Summary As a Senior Tax Accountant, you will support the federal, state, and local tax accounting and compliance strategies across our complex, multi-entity environment. This role is responsible for preparing tax filings, maintaining accurate corporate records, conducting tax research, and coordinating closely with our external advisors and auditors. Key Responsibilities Tax Compliance: Prepare and coordinate federal, state, and local tax returns, including income, personal property, and sales/use tax filings. Workpapers & Provisioning: Build accurate tax workpapers, supporting schedules, and ledger reconciliations; assist with quarterly and annual tax provision calculations. Audit & Advisory Support: Act as a key point of contact for external tax advisors and auditors, gathering documentation and responding to audit requests. Research & Strategy: Track changing federal, state, and local tax regulations, analyze the tax impact of business transactions, and present actionable findings to management. Account Reconciliation: Routinely reconcile tax-related general ledger accounts, investigate variances, and maintain immaculate multi-entity records. Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve internal tax controls, reporting workflows, and cross-departmental documentation. Requirements & Qualifications Required: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a closely related field. Experience: Minimum of 3 years of dedicated corporate tax preparation or public accounting experience. Technical Skills: Strong understanding of GAAP, multi-entity accounting principles, and advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities. Attributes: High attention to detail, strong time-management skills, and the ability to comfortably navigate strict recurring deadlines. Work Arrangement: This is a 100% structured, full-time in-office role (not eligible for remote or hybrid schedules). Preferred: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or active CPA candidate status. Prior experience managing taxation for corporate, partnership, and multi-state entities.
