Adjunct Faculty - ASN Nursing

Job Summary Perform the course duties and responsibilities of the adjunct position as assigned, including teaching, advising, grading, preparing syllabi, administering examinations, and evaluating student achievement of nursing competencies. Responsibilities also include other duties that may be required by the university from time to time. All duties must be carried out professionally and in accordance with university policies, practices, and timelines. A successful candidate should be academically and experientially qualified to accomplish the mission, goals, and expected program and student learning outcomes, ensuring compliance with all clinical and university requirements. The incumbent is expected to engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with contemporary nursing practice. Essential Job Functions Teach the didactic and clinical components of Associate of Science in Nursing courses during the academic year, ensuring compliance with standards, clinical agency requirements, and university policies. Evaluate students in both didactic and clinical courses as assigned. Collaborate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of nursing policies to align with university policies, justifying any differences through program goals and outcomes. Ensure students comply with practicum requirements by reviewing clinical requirements in the established system (Castlebranch). Maintain all licensure, clinical, and university requirements, and attend required trainings and continuing education. Perform any other duties or tasks as assigned by the university. Compensation $500 - $1,200 per credit. Adjunct faculty pay rates vary depending on the academic discipline and the course's credit load and level. Qualifications MSN degree or enrollment in an MSN program is required. Current, active, and unencumbered Registered Nurse license in the territory of practice is required. Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, and networking skills. Ability to work in a team environment. Leadership, project management, analytical, and strategic skills. Organizational skills and attention to detail with follow‑through. Ability to work independently, multitask, use good judgment, and meet deadlines in a vibrant academic environment. Proficiency with computer and data management information systems. Ability to negotiate, creatively problem‑solve, and interact in diverse clinical settings. Ability to adhere to university policies and procedures. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and within FERPA and HIPAA guidelines. All new employees must complete the FERPA, Anti‑Harassment, and any other required online trainings within 15 days of employment. Demonstrated ability to build working relationships with people of diverse backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences.
