Legal Assistant / Paralegal – Estate Planning & Estate Administration

Susan Williams Matthews, PLLC , located in Conover, NC, is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant or Paralegal to join our small, established law firm. Our practice primarily focuses on estate planning and estate administration.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

• At least 5 years of experience working in a law firm, Clerk of Court’s office, or other legal or court-related setting
• Prior experience in estate planning, estate administration, or probate matters strongly preferred
• Experience in litigation and/or real estate is a plus, but not required
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize assignments, and manage deadlines
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (including Word and Excel) and Adobe Acrobat
• Dependable, professional, and comfortable working in a small-team environment
• Current NC Notary Public, or willingness to obtain Notary certification after hire

POSITION DETAILS:

The person hired will work directly with Attorney Susan Williams Matthews and alongside another paralegal and receptionist. We are looking for someone who enjoys a friendly, close-knit office environment and takes pride in being an integral part of a small team.

Schedule: Monday – Thursday, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., with the possibility of additional Friday hours in the future, depending on office needs and person's desire to work additional hours.
