Registered Nurse - Trauma/Orthopedics

Job Description As a Registered Nurse on this Trauma Ortho Progressive Care Unit you will provide care for a variety of patients with different medical conditions and acuity levels. This team specializes in orthopedics, but sees patients with other complex medical conditions and treatment plans. It is a challenging, fast‑paced environment with high patient turnover. Nurses on this team are trained to initiate and maintain IV infusions such as heparin, losartan, Cardizem, amiodarone, and PCA/CADD pumps. The unit is part of our Level 1 Trauma and Academic Medical Center. It is a tight‑knit team that values knowledge sharing, collaboration, and continuous improvement. The team is diverse with varied backgrounds and skill levels. Shift Full Time Days, 12‑hour shifts. Responsibilities Accountable for utilizing the nursing process. Perform patient care, delegate tasks, and supervise other patient care staff. Coordinate the plan of care for a group of assigned patients and consult with other health‑care team members as needed to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Demonstrate proficiency and adhere to policies, rules, guidelines, and procedures. Job Requirements 1 year Basic Life Support – American Heart Association or Red Cross certification.
