3 DAYS AGO Full Time Role Summary The Network Installer is responsible for supporting and maintaining network infrastructure critical to aviation systems, with a focus on ensuring network performance, security, and reliability. This is a long-term role that involves installing, configuring, and troubleshooting enterprise-level network components, including fiber optic systems and wireless networks. The position offers opportunities to work within federal programs supporting air traffic operations. Responsibilities Ensure the uptime, performance, and security of FAA network infrastructure. Install, configure, and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless systems. Support SD-WAN solutions across distributed environments. Install, terminate, and test fiber optic cabling, including single-mode and multi-mode fibers. Perform fiber testing using OTDR and certification tools. Monitor network systems daily, analyze logs, and respond to incidents promptly. Troubleshoot network issues across fiber, SD-WAN, and IP layers, escalating as needed. Support network cutovers, migrations, and failover validation processes. Maintain accurate network diagrams, documentation, and configuration records. Support regional travel to multiple locations, with expenses reimbursed as needed. Qualifications U.S. Citizenship required with the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance. Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent education and experience. Proven experience managing enterprise network environments. Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP). Hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, or similar networking technologies. Experience with TDM-to-IP migrations and modern IP-based networks. Solid understanding of SD-WAN, fiber optics, and wireless LAN/WAN technologies. Familiarity with firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and network monitoring tools. Ability to interpret network diagrams and schematics. Experience with fiber testing tools such as OTDR. Publishing Pay Range $66.00 - $71.00 hourly This position is based in office and requires employee to work on-site.
