We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our construction accounting team. The ideal candidate will support daily accounting operations, job cost tracking, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and month-end closing.

Construction accounting experience is preferred but not required.

Key Responsibilities

• Process vendor invoices and verify proper job number and cost code assignments.
• Track construction project costs and expenses.
• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Prepare customer invoices and progress billings.
• Reconcile bank accounts and general ledger accounts.
• Prepare and post journal entries.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing.
• Review job costs and assist with budget-to-actual reporting.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.
• Communicate with Project Managers regarding job costs, invoices, and billing questions.
• Assist with other accounting duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
• Basic knowledge of accounting principles.
• Experience with Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
• Construction or job cost accounting experience is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
