Hotel Chocolat - Retail and Barista Associate (Hubbard Woods, Winnetka, IL)

Overview This position pays $18/hr. This position is Part Time, working 18-24 hours per week. The role is located at 912 Green Bay Rd., Winnetka, IL 60093. For this position, you will be required to work through the holiday season 2026, including holidays such as Thanksgiving and Christmas. No time off will be given between November 27th – December 25th, 2026. The Hotel Chocolat Sales Associate is responsible for welcoming customers and providing excellent service, ensuring stores (Retail, Food & Beverage) are presented according to Retail Excellence guidelines, and supporting Hotel Chocolat’s mission of “Making People Happy Through Chocolate.” Product knowledge is vital to the brand image. Job Role and Responsibilities Customer Experience – Deliver excellent customer experiences through the Phoenix program, welcoming customers, identifying needs, answering questions, and supporting customers to enhance their shopping journey and drive sales. Brand – Be a Brand Ambassador and share retail and cocoa knowledge to provide a consistent customer experience. Product knowledge – Learn our range of products, how they are grown and produced, allergens, and our commitments to sustainability and ethics. Run tasting sessions and demonstrations for customers. Stock – Assist with receiving deliveries, follow Health & Safety guidelines, present stock on the shop floor, keep areas clean, and ensure best before dates are observed. Operations – Ensure Health & Safety compliance through daily operations, maintain hygiene standards, and manage store security per policies. In the absence of the Store Manager and Assistant Manager, perform opening/closing procedures and manage store needs and keys. Skills and Experience We don’t have any essential requirements, but we will consider the following during recruitment: Customer service – Positive attitude and willingness to work in a customer-facing environment. Teamwork – Ability to work as part of a team, flexible to support colleagues and workload. Merchandising – Ability to identify product types and present displays according to guidelines, promotions, and offers. Communication – Ask relevant questions, listen to customers, adapt communication style, and interact with colleagues and managers clearly and respectfully. Product knowledge – Ability to learn a diverse range of products and understand the background, allergens, and cocoa origins; willingness to learn about new products and innovations.
