The role of a Guest Advocate can provide you with the skills and experience of: Communicating and interacting with guests to build a welcoming guest experience Blending problem solving and decision making to positively impact the guest experience and resolve guest concerns Adapting to different guest interactions and situations Promoting and engaging around various benefits, offerings and services Responsibilities Demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes the guest service experience by delivering the service standard Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests as you complete daily tasks Engage with guests who need assistance to help solve their specific needs Inform guests of current promos, store activities and events Be knowledgeable about tools, products, and services available in the total store to resolve issues and improve guest experience Thank guests and express appreciation for their visit Know and discuss the benefits of Target Loyalty programs and assist with application or sign-up as needed Scan and bag guest items efficiently, accurately and in compliance with safety standards Work to minimize guest wait time while maintaining service quality Explain and demonstrate features of the Target App including Wallet Be familiar with Order Pick-Up, Drive Up and online ordering; assist guests with enrollment and use Assist with returns following policies and procedures, coordinating with Leaders as needed Maintain a clean, clutter-free work area and manage store supplies during open hours Demonstrate ethical conduct, safety and compliance Work safely; comply with safety policies, report hazards and correct where possible Support guest services such as order pick up, Drive-Up orders and returns while complying with applicable laws All other duties based on business needs What We Are Looking For You enjoy interacting and helping others, including guests and fellow team members You thrive in a fast-moving, active environment; teamwork, flexibility and problem solving are key You are open to a flexible schedule with varying hours, days or shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays Skills and Qualities Effective communication with positive language and attentiveness to guests needs Welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and teammates Attention to detail while prioritizing tasks Willingness to educate guests about products and services Ability to operate handheld scanners and other technology Ability to work independently and as part of a team Ability to stay focused in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks Work Basics Accurately handle checkout operations and cash office support as needed Scan, handle and move merchandise safely, with typical lifting up to 10 pounds and occasional lifting up to 44 pounds with assistance Flexible work schedule including nights, weekends and holidays; reliable attendance Ability to stay mobile for the duration of a shift Able to work in varying temperatures and environments related to Drive-Up and other duties Find competitive benefits from financial and education to well-being and beyond at Benefits Eligibility Please visit the benefits page for eligibility information: ADA Notice In compliance with state and federal laws, Target will make reasonable accommodations for applicants with disabilities.
