Assistant General Manager

Job Overview The Assistant General Manager works closely with the GM and kitchen to ensure operational excellence throughout the business, including front of house and bar operations, and the high-quality food and service our guests expect. Compensation & Benefits Salary : Starting Annual Salary $68,870 + Annual Bonus Potential $10,200 (paid quarterly). Paid Time Off based on position and tenure. Paid Sick Time Off. Responsibilities Run the front of house and bar business to deliver flawless execution for customers and crew. Work in the kitchen on prep, grill, and dish to serve high‑quality food. All Bar & Shift Responsibilities (Open or Close). Plan a great shift and have a plan B if needed. Ensure shift readiness and conduct 3rd‑party audits. Deploy daily team and establish routines. Manage bar prep schedule, list, and pull. Taste food for quality and flavor at least twice per shift. Execute flawless bar recipes, timing, quality, and freshness of drinks. Maintain timing and throughput. Ensure safety and security for food and team (restaurant & bar). Set up the next shift for restaurant and bar. Cleanliness and sanitizing for restaurant and bar. Roll‑out execution of SOPs and IT practices. Cross‑train kitchen staff: food ordering, waste & yields, par levels, variances, receiving, organization, rotation, inventory accountability, food cost, recipe execution, safety. Handle guest comments and mystery shop feedback. Interview, hire, onboard, forecast teams, and develop staff. Conduct initial, cross‑training, new position training, and ongoing development. Perform evaluations, communicate 1‑on‑1, handle terminations, and manage daily development. Maintain restaurant team meetings, on‑stage management and coaching, create energy and great vibe, train and mentor shift supervisors, and continuously teach and coach the team. Oversee sales, forecasting, projections, budgets, correct order handling, guest feedback, promotions, banking practices, and inventory accountability. Manage bar ordering, waste, par levels, receipt, rotation, inventory accountability, equipment care, guest service, 3rd‑party inspection results, and action plans. Schedule labor and manage controllables such as smallwares, supplies, workers' comp, equipment, HVAC, exterior maintenance, incident management, and safety practices. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalency. Minimum one year of management and/or leadership experience. Strong listening, giving and receiving direction. Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Comfortable with computer functions expected of a manager. Good communication, organizational, and time‑management skills. Problem recognition and problem‑solving ability. Proficiency in speaking, reading, following, writing, and comprehending instructions, correspondence, and policy documents. Ability to work effectively in a diverse workforce. Ability to set goals and convert plans into action. Must safely operate commercial equipment. Position requires walking, bending, twisting, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, pushing, pulling, or moving objects up to 50 pounds. Must work a flexible schedule, have a reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and up‑to‑date auto insurance.
