Staff Material Cost Estimator

We are looking for an experienced Estimator to join our San Diego Area team. This position

is responsible for the development of accurate and timely estimates for both private and public works projects. Review proposal specifications, drawings, soils reports and existing site conditions to determine scope of work. Solicit subcontractors and vendors prior to bid date to ensure coverage of scope of work. Assist in coordination of scope of work with other Griffith Division and subcontractors. Maintain files of working documents as backup for estimating figures. Interface with Owner and other contractors to provide engineering and cost data regarding project feasibility. Assist with project startup / estimate handoff and budgeting. Help monitor post bid submission dates towards contract procurement. May include estimating extra work items, change orders, credits, procuring material, monitoring progress, cost/budget, revenue, etc. Assist Chief Estimator with B2W maintenance and updates. Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree would be preferred, or equivalent combinations of technical training and related experience. Minimum 1 year of field experience. Excellent writing, presentation, and computer skills Develop a thorough knowledge of company procedures, estimating techniques, all engineering disciplines, cost control systems and accounts required. Become advanced in Bid2Win Estimating software. Become proficient in Agtek, SureTrak, Primavera P6 and MS Project. Must have an understanding of construction sequencing and project staffing requirements.
