Research Scientist/Engineer

I’m working with a rapidly growing AI company that is building advanced AI agents to transform critical industries. Following significant growth and a recent major funding round from top-tier investors, the company is expanding its research organization and looking for exceptional talent to help push the boundaries of machine learning and LLM capabilities. They are hiring a Senior Research Scientist to lead high-impact research initiatives across machine learning, conversational AI, and large language models. This is a highly technical role for someone who enjoys solving open-ended research problems, designing experiments, building ML systems, and translating research into real-world products used at scale. Responsibilities Identify and drive research projects across LLMs, conversational AI, and AI safety Design experiments, build prototypes, and develop scalable ML solutions Run large-scale evaluations and improve model performance Collaborate with engineering, product, and business teams to bring research into production Mentor junior researchers and help raise the technical standard across the team Shape the company’s long-term AI research roadmap Ideal Background PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, Theoretical Physics, or a related quantitative field 5+ years of post-PhD experience in industry or academia Strong research track record with publications or demonstrated technical contributions Deep understanding of machine learning algorithms, statistical modeling, and data analysis Strong programming skills in Python or similar languages Experience building and deploying ML models in real-world environments Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment with high ownership Competitive salary + equity Full medical, dental, and vision coverage In-office environment with strong team collaboration and resources Location New York City (in-office, 4–5 days/week) This is an opportunity to join an ambitious AI team where you’ll have ownership over meaningful research problems and directly influence the future direction of the company’s AI systems. #J-18808-Ljbffr Alexander Chapman
