Your responsibilities will include developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), working collaboratively with general education staff, and supporting students with diverse needs to achieve their educational goals. Experience managing behavioral challenges is especially valuable, as you’ll play a key role in maintaining a positive and productive classroom atmosphere.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid North Carolina Special Education License required
• Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher strongly preferred
• Background in working with high school students
• Behavior management skills or experience supporting students with behavioral needs highly desirable
• Dedication to individualized instruction and team collaboration

Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct instruction and supports to high school students on your caseload
• Develop, implement, and monitor progress on IEPs
• Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families to ensure successful student outcomes
• Provide effective strategies for classroom management and behavioral support
• Maintain compliance with state and federal special education requirements
• Document student progress and communicate regularly with stakeholders
