Strong understanding of distributed systems, data storage, and cluster computing3. Proficiency in Linux/Unix and at least one programming/scripting language (Python, Java, Scala, or Bash)**Plusses:**1. Experience with Apache Spark and batch/stream processing frameworks2. Experience with monitoring tools (Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk)3. Experience supporting high-availability enterprise-scale clusters4. Familiarity with other Hadoop distributions (Cloudera, Hortonworks)5. Strong troubleshooting skills in large-scale production environments**Job Summary:**In this contingent resource assignment, you may: Consult on or participate in moderately complex initiatives and deliverables within Software Engineering and contribute to large-scale planning related to Software Engineering deliverables. Review and analyze moderately complex Software Engineering challenges that require an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Contribute to the resolution of moderately complex issues and consult with others to meet Software Engineering deliverables while leveraging solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements. Collaborate with client personnel in Software Engineering.**Day-to-Day Responsibilities:*** Design, implement, and maintain distributed data platforms using HPE MapR and Hadoop* Support and optimize MapR-based ecosystems for performance, reliability, and scalability* Monitor cluster health and troubleshoot performance or stability issues* Ensure high availability and operational efficiency of enterprise data infrastructure* Work with Spark and data processing frameworks for large-scale data workloads* Perform Linux/Unix system administration tasks related to cluster operations* Develop and maintain scripts and tools for automation using Python, Java, Scala, or Bash* Utilize monitoring tools (Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk) to track system metrics and performance* Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve complex distributed system issues* Support compliance, security, and governance standards within data platform operations* Contribute to continuous improvement and optimization of big data infrastructureEEO EmployerApex Systems is an equal opportunity employer.
