Physician - Headache Specialist

Role Overview MaineHealthNeurology is seeking a full‑time board certified/eligible Neurologist with fellowship training or special interest in Headache to serve as Headache Program Director in our Neurology Department. The Program Director will provide patient care and oversee teaching of residents and APPs in evaluation and management of refractory headache patients. The position is primarily outpatient, based at our Scarborough Campus with on‑site MRI and neurodiagnostic laboratory. Research time is supported through the MaineHealth Institute for Research via a dedicated academic pathway. Responsibilities Delivery of outpatient patient care for patients with refractory headaches. Oversight and teaching of neurology residents, fellows, and APPs in headache evaluation and management. Participation in limited inpatient coverage (equitable share of daytime consult service four to five weeks per year). Engagement in research activities supported by institutional resources. Qualifications Board certified or board eligible Neurologist. Fellowship training or demonstrated special interest in Headache. Excellent communication and teaching skills.
