Ideal candidates will have 2-4 years of IT experience and a strong background in maintaining and supporting network infrastructure. This is a 12-month contract with possible extension. Job Title: Systems Administrator 2 Job Location: West Fargo, ND 58078 Job Duration: 12 months with possible extension Job Description: The main function of a systems administrator is to install, configure, and support an organization’s local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), and Internet system or a segment of a network system. A typical systems administrator is responsible for monitoring the network to ensure network availability to all system users and performing necessary maintenance to support network availability. Responsibilities Maintain and administer computer networks and related computing environments including computer hardware, network hardware, mobile devices, systems software, applications software, and all configurations. Perform disaster recovery operations. Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, or other network and system problems, vulnerabilities, and replace defective components when necessary. Skills Verbal and written communication skills Problem-solving skills Organizational management to prioritize multiple project action items and manage time effectively Basic ability to identify, interpret, and evaluate system and network requirements Knowledge of computer hardware and software related to LAN/WAN and desktop PCs Education/Experience Associate’s degree in a computer-related field is required, with preference given to a four-year degree in an IT-related field Two to four years of professional experience required Position’s Contributions to Work Group PC and mobile hardware and software support for factory devices including corporate deployed IT assets at the Fargo facilities Provide support for PC operating system and security patch updates/deployments for factory floor devices Diagnose hardware failures or vulnerabilities and replace failed parts, replace PC or coordinate repairs with 3rd party vendors Basic understanding of network infrastructure (switches, routers, cabling, architecture understanding) Perform basic network and server equipment installation under the direction and support from the infrastructure team Assist with application/software related incidents, problems or vulnerabilities and/or coordinate with the software provider for resolution as needed Provide Root Cause Analysis on issues impacting computers on the factory floor or site-specific client/server solutions and make necessary corrections or recommendations to improve/resolve impact Assist with supporting developed applications including initial troubleshooting Assist with ERP and other site-specific account administration as needed Assist with non-standard account administration in Active Directory Assist with other factory IT projects and initiatives as requested Desktop PC related hardware/software technology Backend infrastructure (server, storage, database, network) Typical Task Breakdown Attending discussions with local business partners, corporate IT, and collaborating with other IT on-site team members to provide status updates and determine next steps Complete installation of site-specific software on desktops and coordinate deployment of assets to the factory floor work centers Troubleshoot network infrastructure or desktop assets at the local facility Work on IT projects for LAN/WAN, desktop, or audio/video improvements Work with a production supervisor or office worker to remediate a client/server technical issue Interaction with Team 2 other team members onsite; worker will be supporting internal customers Onsite Education & Experience Required Minimum requirement is associate’s degree Minimum requirement of two to four years professional IT experience Technical Skills (Required) 2-4 years professional IT experience in each of the following areas Technical Skills (Desired – Nice to Have) ITSM services: Incident, Problem, Vulnerability management, including restoration of service, root cause analysis, and permanent corrective action Administrator level access for desktop assets, LAN/WAN hardware and IT infrastructure software for configuration Soft Skills (Required) Self-starter; takes the initiative High organizational skills High accountability Choppy tenure (jumping from job to job) Candidates who have not worked in the last 3 months will not be considered If candidate is not currently local but will relocate on their own dime and be onsite day 1, please make sure to make that clear on the resume, or they will be disqualified Seniority level Mid-Senior level Employment type Contract Job function Information Technology Manufacturing Referrals increase your chances of interviewing at Motion Recruitment by 2x Get notified about new System Administrator jobs in West Fargo, ND .
