Substitute Custodian

Summary
The Eastern Pulaski Community School Corporation is seeking a dedicated and reliable individual to join our team as a Substitute Custodian. This position is essential in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. As a substitute custodian, you will provide support during staff absences and ensure that all facilities are well-maintained and ready for daily activities.

Responsibilities
- Perform general cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and sanitizing classrooms, restrooms, hallways, and common areas.
- Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Assist in setting up and taking down furniture and equipment for events and activities.
- Monitor and maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and report needs to the supervisor.
- Follow established safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Respond to emergency cleaning requests as needed.
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate personnel.
- Collaborate with other custodial staff and school personnel to ensure a cohesive and efficient operation.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding student and staff information.

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous custodial or cleaning experience is a plus, but not required.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
- Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions.
- Physical ability to perform cleaning tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Flexibility to work on short notice and adapt to varying schedules.
- Must pass a background check as required by school corporation policy.
