Warehouse / Receiving Associate

Description

We are looking for a Warehouse / Receiving Associate to join our team. This role is vital in ensuring that merchandise is properly received, organized, and prepared for the sales floor. Position starts at $20 per hour, final pay based on experience.

Responsibilities

• Sorting & Storing - Properly sort and place items on shelves or in designated storage areas.
• Inventory Management - Organize and maintain backstock inventory to ensure accuracy and accessibility.
• Furniture Delivery - Lift, carry, and load furniture for transport to clients home or to other Hive stores; may involve moving up and down stairs.
• Product Installation - Set-up furniture inside store or client homes as requested; including but not limited to sofas, mattresses, dressers, and tables.
• Receiving & Processing - Complete receiving tasks from start to finish, including sorting packages, opening product, checking in inventory, reporting discrepancies to buyers, preparing product for the floor, and tagging each item.
• Quality Control - Verify quantities and ensure accuracy of product received by checking paperwork and purchase orders.
• Communication - Report issues to Buyers and Store Manager and coordinate with other departments to ensure a seamless receiving process.
• System Utilization - Use LightSpeed or other inventory systems to search for incoming product and purchase orders.
• Organization & Cleanliness - Keep the receiving area clean, organized, and efficient.
• Deadline-Oriented - Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with deadlines.
• Additional Duties - Perform other tasks as assigned by the manager.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a retail receiving, warehouse, or similar environment.
• Ability to accurately check in inventory and maintain organized backstock.
• Comfortable using inventory management systems (experience with LightSpeed preferred).
• Ability to calculate quantities and verify numbers.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with multiple departments.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed.
• Eagerness to learn about our extensive product collections and deliver informed customer service.
• Detail-oriented with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Mac OS applications.

Physical Requirements: Lift boxes up to 50 lbs., stand for extended periods, and move throughout the warehouse.

• Ability to navigate effectively throughout the store, including the sales floor, stock room, and cash wrap areas.
• Must be comfortable with prolonged periods of standing.
