We are currently seeking a full-time General Surgeon to serve the community. NMC Health is an award-winning non-profit medical care system focused on improving health throughout Newton, Kansas and surrounding counties. Featuring a 99-bedhospital and an 11-room ER located at the intersection of I-135 and Highway 50, and nine primary care and specialty clinics, NMC Health's services and specialties include emergency medicine, surgical services, orthopedics, neurology, rehabilitation, occupational medicine, home health and more. QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and experience:

• Graduate of a recognized school of medicine and completion of a general surgery residency program
• Licensed in the State of Kansas by the Board of Healing Arts
  
• Experienced surgeon with minimum of 5+ years of experience preferred
• Some colonoscopies and EGDs, but looking for someone who can go beyond that, with a wider range of comfort and wanting a more diverse caseload, some bellies, bigger bowel cases, women from cancer center, breast case familiarity, thyroidectomies
• Completion of a recognized emergency medicine residency, preferred
• Board Certification preferred or Board Eligible and willing to obtain certification within two years

Work Schedule and Key Responsibilities

• 2-2.5 days in clinic with remainder OR time
• Call with 1 in 4 rotation
• Patient Care; Quality Initiatives
