FOOD UNIT LEAD (FULL TIME)

Position Overview Position: Food Unit Lead (Full time, immediate start) Location: Inova Fairfax Hospital, 3300 Gallows Road, Falls Church, VA 22042 Schedule: Full time, days may vary 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM, rotating weekends (details upon interview) Experience required: One year as Food Unit Lead Pay: $19.50–$20.00 per hour Sign on bonus: $750.00 (half after 30 days, remaining after 90 days) Job Summary Coordinates activities of food-service employees to create an enjoyable dining experience for customers, staff, and visitors. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provides quality customer service with one‑on‑one attention to detail. Oversees and participates in the preparation and service of food and beverage items in accordance with company standards. Helps plan menus. Ensures timely, efficient meal service and supervises serving. Responds to customer complaints in person and via email. Trains employees; assigns and coordinates work of employees to promote efficiency and excellence. Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules and expedites workflow. Uses proper systems for required daily/weekly/monthly reports (inventory, cash, production, payroll, time‑keeping). Responsible for proper cash handling as established by the Food Accounting Manual. Orders food and supplies from approved sources. Directs and participates in sanitation and safety of facility and employees. Develops sanitation schedule and ensures adherence. Issues written and oral instructions. Helps select and orient employees; oversees training. Performs other duties as assigned.
