We are seeking a fellowship-trained Pediatric Neurologist with expertise in epilepsy for an onsite locum tenens opportunity in Charleston, South Carolina. This assignment involves providing inpatient pediatric epilepsy coverage for one week, with an immediate coverage need.

The ideal candidate will have experience managing pediatric epilepsy patients, interpreting inpatient and outpatient EEG studies, and providing care in an epilepsy monitoring unit. An active South Carolina medical license is required at the time of submission.

Position Details:

• Assignment Dates: November 2–9, 2026
• Assignment Duration: 1 week
• Work Setting: Onsite, hospital-based
• Schedule: Monday at 8:00 AM through the following Monday at 8:00 AM
• Shift Type: 24-hour coverage
• Call Requirements: Nightly call
• Prior Travel Experience: Required

Responsibilities:

• Provide inpatient pediatric epilepsy coverage.
• Evaluate and manage patients in the epilepsy monitoring unit.
• See approximately 4–6 patients per week in the epilepsy monitoring unit.
• Interpret inpatient EEG studies, averaging approximately 8 per day.
• Interpret outpatient EEG studies, averaging approximately 10 per day.
• Provide onsite daytime coverage and remain available for nightly call.
• Collaborate with the pediatric neurology team to ensure high-quality patient care.

Requirements:

• MD or DO degree.
• Fellowship training in epilepsy or a related subspecialty required.
• Board certification required, with board eligibility accepted within five years, as applicable.
• Active South Carolina medical license in hand at the time of submission.
• Experience in pediatric epilepsy and EEG interpretation.
• Ability to provide onsite 24-hour coverage and nightly call.

Additional Information:

• Hospital modules and EPIC personalization are required.
• A $500 flat payment is available for completion of hospital modules and EPIC personalization.
• Lodging reimbursement of $150 per night is available at an approved hotel.
• Compensation structure is based on an all-inclusive 24-hour rate.
• No telehealth coverage; onsite services are required.
