Clinical Nurse – Med/Surg/TelemetryEmployment Type: Full-Time / 36 hours weeklyShift: 12 hour day shiftLocation: Germantown, MDPosition PurposeReporting to the Director of Acute Care, the Registered Nurse must demonstrate the passion to provide bedside care to a diverse and acutely ill population of patients. The RN should possess the knowledge and skill of how to safely apply the nursing process to assess, plan and evaluate the care of patients with various health conditions, as well as provide care for pre-and post-surgical patients including bariatrics.Unit OverviewThe Med/Surg/Tele Unit is a 30-bed inpatient unit that is part of a new transformational care team model created to improve patient care and provide nurses and nurse assistants new opportunities and support. The RN will team with an experienced virtual RN (vRN) and a certified nursing assistant to provide excellent patient care to patients in an acute care setting. This fast-paced unit has a diverse population of staff and patients with multiple medical co-morbidities.As a Registered Nurse you will:Participate in collaborative planning, coordinating, and delivering quality care to medical and telemetry patients that are acutely ill; focusing on care of the stroke/neuro patient.Facilitate best practices to deliver quality care through the identification, implementation and evaluation of nursing interventions and communication of results to the healthcare team.Provides education to patients and their families for all medical diagnoses (respiratory, cardiac, GI, rental, neuro, endocrine).Minimum Qualifications:Required:Graduation from an accredited nursing program; basic professional nursing degree required (BSN preferred). Pay is based on experience, skills and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates.
