Addiction Staff Registered Nurse (RN) Pay Range: $50–$55/hr This is a full-time [3x12 shifts per week] swing shift from 11am to 11pm You are a skilled, dependable registered nurse who works well under pressure, values teamwork, and is committed to delivering safe, evidence-based care. You bring compassion, professionalism, and clinical judgment to caring for patients experiencing Substance Use Disorder and acute withdrawal. Our Behavioral Health Services provide residential and outpatient treatment for individuals living with mental illness and substance use disorders. For many patients, these services are life-stabilizing and life-saving. The Addiction Staff Nurse plays a critical role in the delivery of safe, structured detoxification and stabilization services. This is a hands-on clinical role requiring strong assessment skills, sound judgement, and the ability to respond effectively in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. Nurses are responsible for monitoring withdrawal, managing medical needs, and supporting patients through early recovery in collaboration with an interdisciplinary care team. Responsibilities Assessment and Monitoring Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments upon admission and throughout treatment. Monitor vital signs, withdrawal symptoms, and overall patient status, responding promptly to changes or emergent conditions. Identify and manage co-occurring medical conditions that may impact detoxification or stabilization. Patient Care Administer medications and treatments as ordered to manage withdrawal symptoms and medical concerns. Provide evidence-based nursing care to promote patient safety, comfort, and stabilization. Offer patient education and supportive communication related to detoxification, recovery, and treatment expectations. Collaboration Work closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, counselors, and other team members to support individualized treatment plans. Communicate clearly and professionally regarding patient status, concerns, and care needs. Documentation And Compliance Maintain timely, accurate clinical documentation in the electronic health record. Adhere to all confidentiality, safety, and regulatory requirements. Quality And Professional Practice Participate in quality improvement and patient safety activities as assigned. Engage in required training and continuing education to maintain clinical competence. Qualifications Current Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license required. Experience in addiction treatment, detoxification, or acute behavioral health settings strongly preferred. Solid foundation in medical-surgical nursing and management of co-occurring medical conditions. Ability to remain calm, professional, and effective in high-stress situations. Strong communication, teamwork, and clinical decision-making skills. Commitment to ethical practice, patient dignity, and recovery-oriented care.
