School-Based Physical Therapist - PT

$55 per hour

Job Summary (Physical Therapist School-Based, Elementary, Brownsville, TX)

- Deliver direct and consultative physical therapy services to elementary students according to IEP/504 goals
- Conduct evaluations and re-evaluations to assess students' gross motor, mobility, and functional skills
- Develop measurable IEP goals and progress reports; maintain accurate documentation in compliance with district, state, and federal timelines
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members (teachers, OT, SLP, nurse, paraprofessionals) to facilitate student participation in the educational environment
- Recommend, fit, and monitor adaptive equipment and assistive technology for student needs
- Train and support school staff in proper positioning, transfer, and safe handling techniques
- Participate in ARD/IEP meetings, providing relevant input and recommendations for services
- Ensure compliance with Texas practice act, district policies, and IDEA/Medicaid billing requirements
- Manage and prioritize a caseload across an elementary campus to meet mandated service minutes
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and home programs

Qualifications:
- Current PT license in Texas
- DPT from an accredited university
- New graduates welcome; mentorship provided
