Speech Language Pathologist / SLP Specialist

MLee Medical Employment

Imagine your next career adventure allowing you to truly empower voices - not just with words, but with purpose and passion. At the heart of Lubbock, Texas, an amazing opportunity awaits you as a Speech Language Pathologist. Here, your skills will go beyond merely treating communication and swallowing disorders; they will inspire transformation, restore confidence, and nurture connections across generations. From young children embarking on their journey of language to older adults reclaiming their voices - you will play a vital role in their stories. This position is a fulfilling mix of outpatient therapy peppered with occasional inpatient support, enabling you to shine whether you're focused on pediatric speech development, navigating adult neurogenic communication challenges, or delving into geriatric cognitive-linguistic rehabilitation. It's a role where your expertise can flourish while ensuring that each patient finds support and understanding. In this role, you'll engage in a myriad of enriching experiences. You'll assess patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations with trusted assessment methods that balance scientific rigor with observational insights. Your ability to develop customized treatment strategies will directly contribute to both the short- and long-term success of those you serve. You'll offer one-on-one therapy in communications, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing, ensuring each intervention is pivotal to your patients' growth. Collaboration is key; you'll work alongside a dedicated team, including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, doctors, caregivers, and families, all of whom contribute to cohesive care strategies. For families and patients, your educational efforts will be instrumental by facilitating progress that extends beyond your sessions. You'll also engage in the occasional inpatient evaluations, making sure that continuity of care is maintained throughout every patient's journey. Your responsibilities will include keeping precise and timely documentation, embracing the latest advances in speech-language pathology through continual learning and peer exchanges. To excel in this position, you'll need to have a Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution, along with completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if you are not yet ASHA-certified. State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist is required, with the preferred Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA. You'll also need to obtain a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within the first month of your employment. Your skill set should include a deep understanding of evidence-based treatment modalities applicable to all age groups, along with strong interpersonal skills that resonate with patients, families, and your interdisciplinary team members. Flexibility and cultural competence in your therapy approach is essential, as well as strong clinical reasoning and expertise in documentation standards. At our facility, we offer competitive compensation that reflects your expertise and experience while providing flexible scheduling options to foster a healthy work-life balance. You'll have the chance to hone your skills in specialized areas, enjoying the benefit of paid time off (PTO), holiday pay, along with medical, dental, vision, and life insurance. Funds for continuing education and professional development are also available-because we believe in growing together. Yet, it's not just your professional journey that matters. Living and working in Lubbock will invigorate your spirit. Step into a community where urban sophistication meets small-town charm. Enjoy a landscape where vibrant culture effortlessly blends with beautiful blue skies, and where each day beckons adventure. The sounds of laughter fill the air at local parks and bustling markets, and tantalizing aromas waft from food stalls serving scrumptious regional dishes.
