About the Position

Job Title: Cardiac Ultrasound Technologist Profession: Clinical Professional Specialty: Cardiac Ultrasound Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Sunday to Thursday Hours per Shift: 9:00 AM - 6:30 PM Experience: 2-3 years of experience, at least 1 year of previous traveler experience License: Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) OR Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) or Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) Certifications: BLS Must-Have: Six months of related experience. Ability to work independently. Ability to utilize critical thinking skills. Ability to communicate effectively with surgeons, physicians, and other healthcare staff regarding cardiac ultrasound results. Ability to serve in an on-call rotation after regular business hours. Description: Responsible for performing diagnostic cardiac or vascular ultrasound. Provide measurements and accurate images of cardiac structures for diagnosis. Deliver immediate feedback with preliminary reports of critical results. Assist physicians during complex procedures to decrease associated risks. Demonstrate correct techniques and efficiency in performing advanced cardiac procedures. Perform adult and/or pediatric cardiac ultrasound procedures including TEE and stress echo. Review pertinent patient data and reports before procedures. Operate necessary equipment to obtain optimal diagnostic recordings. Exercise judgment in notifying abnormal results to the reading physician. Maintain proper documentation of data according to policy. Document all procedures accurately in departmental tracking processes. Process charging and other necessary data efficiently and accurately. Collaborate in the maintenance of departmental efficiency. Anticipate needs in equipment and supplies. Use resources wisely to assist in cost containment. Schedule patients efficiently. Support unit and hospital goals through quality assurance and educational activities. Maintain current competency and registry in the specialty practices. Demonstrate initiative in personal and professional development. Participate in departmental quality assurance processes and accreditation. Comply with departmental and facility policies. Maintain a clean environment and practice infection control. Promote patient, visitor, and personnel safety. Ensure confidentiality of patient, employee, physician, and corporate information. Collaborate effectively with all members of the healthcare team. Make independent judgments in decision-making processes from diverse alternatives. Coordinate activities without supervisory responsibilities. Work with patients or customers directly. Engage with other healthcare professionals and staff. Interact frequently with individuals at a director level or above.
