Registrar Assistant

Join the exciting and challenging Office of Student Records as a student employee. This critical role will help ensure that student and alumni academic records are organized and ready for imaging, provide customer service to all our constituents and learn valuable office leadership and service skills you can use in the future. Federal Work-Study Awarded students preferred. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Answering the phone and assisting students, faculty and alumni in the office. Pickup and delivery of mail for the office. Responding to emails for our general inbox. Additionally, assist with two major projects in the Office of Student Records: Archiving Project: Prepare files for archival by removing staples, purging documents according to the records retention schedule, scanning and indexing in our imaging system. Records Review Project: Review historical transcripts for accuracy in coursework, grades, GPA calculations, graduation dates/degrees and biographical/demographical data. Mark records for correction and/or removal of holds. Assist with additional duties such as organizing files, assisting staff members of the Student Records Office, assisting with graduation/commencement or other special projects as assigned. Education, Certifications and/or Licenses Minimum GPA of 3.0 (exceptions upon discretion of the Registrar) A minimum of 15 college credits completed. Experience No experience required. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Discretion in handling confidential matters, while complying with FERPA regulations. Ability to work independently and in an efficient manner. Demonstrated ability for data retrieval and report preparation. Ability to maintain a professional appearance and office atmosphere. Ability to work cooperatively with a diverse group of individuals. Strong organizational skills. Pleasant and clearly understandable phone voice. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written/oral instructions. The ability to meet deadlines, strong attention to detail. Proven ability to manage multiple tasks, projects and changing priorities. Strong dependability – reliable, responsible, and dependable, and fulfilling obligations. Strong organizational skills with the ability to work independently. Ability to maintain confidentiality, while complying with FERPA regulations. Ability to read and comprehend instructions, standard correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 software including but not limited to: Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook, OneDrive. Ability to complete physical tasks as needed.
