Internal Medicine Physician

Position Details Title: Physician – Outpatient Internal Medicine, Oshtemo – Kalamazoo, MI Location Oshtemo, Kalamazoo, MI Position Overview Bronson Internal Medicine Oshtemo seeks a board certified or board eligible Internal Medicine physician to join an established practice. The role is a hospital‑employed, outpatient‑only position Monday through Friday 8:00a.m. to 5:00p.m., with minimal call. You will work alongside five physicians and one APP, in a full‑time, flexible‑scheduling setting. Qualifications Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine. Current and unrestricted medical license as MD/DO in the state of Michigan. DEA license and current DPS Certificate of Registration. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Commitment to providing compassionate, quality, patient‑centered care. Proficiency in applying professional medical principles, procedures, and techniques. Thorough knowledge of pharmacological agents used in patient treatment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including proper telephone etiquette. Ability to perform in a tactful and professional manner. Job Responsibilities Physicians are responsible for diagnosing illnesses, prescribing, and administering treatment, examining patients, obtaining medical histories, and ordering, performing, and interpreting diagnostic tests. They also counsel patients regarding preventive health, hygiene, and diet. Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests. Provide counseling on preventive healthcare, hygiene, and diet. Educate patients on wellness, prevention, and early detection. Determine necessary referrals and urgency of follow‑up appointments. Exercise final medical judgment in all healthcare issues. Prescribe medical treatments and clinical drugs to patients. Order studies, tests, and ancillary services. Document all services in the patient medical record. Review long‑term cases requiring ongoing medical attention. Consult with the Medical Director and other staff as needed regarding patient care, assessment, and education. Participate in process improvement, management, continuing education, and other patient‑care programs. Oversee mid‑level medical staff and nursing clinical staff as assigned. Assist in resolving complaints, requests, and patient inquiries. Maintain confidentiality of patient information per federal guidelines and regulations.
