Position: Night Custodian

Location: Sussex Technical School District

Reports To: Assistant Building Chief - Night

Starting Date: August 2026

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous experience in cleaning and/or maintenance of facilities preferred.
• Possess basic technology skills.
• Willingness to work as a member of a team and exhibit sound interpersonal skills.
• Able to perform essential job functions on site in year-round weather conditions, lifting 50 lbs., climbing ladders, walking/standing for long periods of time, and completion of tasks requiring full range of movement. In addition, must be able to operate machinery necessary for cleaning.

Performance Responsibilities:

• Work in collaboration with night custodial crew to ensure that facilities are clean, attractive, and safe for the school community.
• Supports the maintenance of all indoor areas including hallways, classrooms, common areas, and bathrooms.
• Assists in the care and repair of equipment, management of supplies, and inventory.
• Communicates effectively with night lead, building chief, school administration and other staff to ensure tasks are completed in an efficient manner.
• Exhibits positive and professional interaction with all employees, students, and community members.
• Work to clear snow when necessary.
• Supports all custodial duties if necessary.
• Other duties as assigned.

Terms of Employment: Twelve (12) month position. Night position only - 3:00 - 11:00 daily.


Salary and Benefits: Pension and benefit eligible position. Salary Range: $41,687 - $54,560
