M3 Environmental LLC is looking for a detail-oriented Environmental Specialist to join our team in Monterey, CA.

M3 Environmental provides environmental consulting, inspection, testing, and industrial hygiene services to commercial, residential, industrial, government, educational, healthcare, and other clients. Our work helps clients identify environmental hazards, meet regulatory requirements, protect building occupants and workers, and make informed decisions about environmental conditions.

What You'll Do

As an Environmental Specialist, you'll support environmental inspections, sampling, testing, reporting, and consulting projects from initial site visits through completion.

Your responsibilities may include:

• Conduct environmental inspections and field investigations at residential, commercial, industrial, and other properties.

• Assist with assessments involving asbestos, lead-based paint, mold, indoor air quality, bacteria, water quality, hazardous materials, and other environmental concerns.

• Collect environmental samples in accordance with established procedures and project requirements.

• Properly label, document, package, and transport samples for laboratory analysis.

• Perform visual inspections and document environmental conditions, deficiencies, and potential hazards.

• Take accurate field measurements, photographs, notes, and observations during site visits.

• Assist with environmental testing and industrial hygiene monitoring.

• Review laboratory analytical results and help identify conditions that may require further investigation or corrective action.

• Prepare clear and accurate field reports, inspection reports, sampling documentation, and other project records.

• Maintain complete and organized project documentation and chain-of-custody records.

• Communicate field observations and project findings to project managers and senior environmental professionals.

• Assist with environmental assessments and regulatory compliance projects.

• Follow applicable federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety requirements.

• Follow company procedures for field safety, sampling, equipment use, and documentation.

• Maintain and properly use environmental sampling equipment and personal protective equipment.

• Coordinate with clients, contractors, property owners, laboratories, and other project stakeholders as needed.

• Help investigate environmental concerns and identify appropriate next steps.

• Support senior staff and project managers with environmental consulting projects.

• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when working at client properties.

• Travel to project sites throughout the service area as required.

• Participate in continuing education and professional development related to environmental health, safety, and regulatory requirements.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who is responsible, observant, organized, and comfortable working in both office and field environments.

You may be a great fit if you have:

• Experience in environmental consulting, environmental science, industrial hygiene, construction, inspection, laboratory work, occupational health and safety, or a related field.

• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accurate documentation.

• An interest in environmental health, safety, and regulatory compliance.

• The ability to follow technical procedures and sampling protocols carefully.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• The ability to work independently while also collaborating with a team.

• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple project priorities.

• The ability to communicate professionally with clients and coworkers.

• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, or similar software.

• The ability to prepare clear field notes, reports, and documentation.

• A valid driver's license and the ability to travel to project sites when required.

• A safety-first mindset and willingness to follow appropriate PPE and workplace safety procedures.
