GENERAL SUMMARY
The Front Desk is responsible for making and scheduling patient appointments in an efficient and timely manner. This position assists patients in person, provides information, and communicates with various physician teams. It obtains and enters complete demographic and insurance information. Principal Duties And Essential Functions Greets and assists patients, visitors, physicians and other staff members in a polite, prompt, helpful manner. Handles front desk registration (check-in and check-out). Maintains confidentiality and follows all HIPAA and departmental guidelines. Maintains waiting room and office supplies. Provides any necessary instructions/directions. Remains flexible in work schedule (overtime, evenings, etc.). Collects patient co‑pays and balances.JOB REQUIREMENTS
JOB KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Proficiency in Microsoft suite products such as Word, Outlook and Excel. General knowledge and experience with office equipment such as copiers, multi‑line phone systems and fax machines. Typing skills and working knowledge of word processing, electronic mail/calendar. Familiarity with medical terminology. Detail‑oriented and able to work independently or as a team. Checks and responds promptly to emails.EDUCATION
High School education or GED preferred.EXPERIENCE
