Security SpecialistPosition OverviewWe are seeking a motivated Security Specialist to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, programming, testing, commissioning, and certification of security and low-voltage systems across a variety of projects ranging from small commercial installations to large, complex deployments. You will also provide end-user training and ensure customers receive exceptional service throughout the project lifecycle. This position offers excellent opportunities for professional growth in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.Key ResponsibilitiesInstall, program, troubleshoot, and commission security, access control, video surveillance, fire alarm, and other low-voltage systems.Perform system start-up, testing, inspection, and certification to ensure proper operation and compliance with project specifications.Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.Train customers and end users on system functionality and operation.Collaborate with project teams to complete installations safely, efficiently, and on schedule.Maintain a high level of customer service while working onsite with clients.Travel locally to customer locations, with occasional overnight travel as needed.Required QualificationsExperience in construction, security systems, fire alarm systems, or low-voltage installations.Strong troubleshooting and programming experience with security-related systems.Mechanical and electrical aptitude, including the use of hand and power tools.Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other computer applications.Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.Preferred SkillsExperience with access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, fire alarm, or integrated building systems.Knowledge of blueprint reading, technical drawings, and basic electrical calculations.Proven ability to succeed in customer-facing environments and deliver high-quality service.Experience Level: Intermediate Technician / Security Specialist.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cedar Rapids, IA.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $24.00 - $32.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
