Certified Medical Assistant The Certified Medical Assistant is responsible for assisting in providing clinical care to selected patients under the supervision of a professional nurse or licensed medical practitioner and for providing clerical office assistance. Responsibilities Prepare exam and treatment rooms, supplies, and instruments. Prepare patients for physician visits and examinations as directed. Take patients' vital signs and record them in the medical chart. Understand the proper function and care of special equipment. Perform EKG, PFT, Audiometry, Titmus Test, UDS, BAT, Phlebotomy, and other lab testing as indicated after a performance evaluation checklist completion. Maintain records by completing patient records as directed; file records and reports. Assist with collections and billing procedures as needed. Use computer software to maintain office systems. Identify and respond to issues of confidentiality. Identify the needs of the patient population served and modify and deliver care that is specific to those needs (e.g., age, culture, language, hearing and/or visually impaired). Communicate with patients, parents, and/or primary caregivers at their level. Perform other duties and/or projects as assigned. Adhere to HMH organizational competencies and standards of behavior. Lift a minimum of 5 lbs., push and pull a minimum of 5 lbs., and stand a minimum of 1 hour a day. Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent such as a GED. Excellent communication skills. Ability to interact effectively and in a supportive manner with varying populations. Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment. Knowledge of computerized processes and data entry procedures. Must be able to travel to various locations. Preferred Qualifications Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program. Licenses and Certifications Nationally Certified Medical Assistant. BLS through the American Heart Association. Compensation and Benefits The starting rate of pay is provided for informational purposes only and is not a guarantee of a specific offer. Compensation is benchmarked against market data and may vary based on experience, education, certifications, skills, geographic location, internal equity, and budget considerations. Some positions may also be eligible for performance‑based incentives, bonuses, or commissions, and shift differentials for evening, night, or weekend shifts. HMH offers a comprehensive benefits package for full‑time and part‑time (20+ hours/week) employees, including health, dental, vision, paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and retirement benefits. Minimum hourly rate is $23.68. HMH is committed to pay equity and transparency for our team members.
