Mechanic

The City of Glasgow is seeking applicants for a mechanics position in the Public Works Department. Under the direction of the Street Foreman this position performs semi-skilled, skilled, and administrative work in maintaining vehicles and mechanical equipment as owned or leased by the City of Glasgow, in addition to other various tasks. This position is full-time. The position is covered by a union collective bargaining agreement. Starting base pay will be $27.37 per hour. Benefits including retirement, health insurance, vacation, sick leave and other union-related benefits. This position requires a high school diploma, GED or equivalent, or one to three years of related experience and/or training in repairing brakes, engines, electrical, fuel, hydraulics, transmissions, ignitions, air exhaust, axle assemblies, and related system; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience. Successful candidates must have a valid Montana Driver's License and Commercial Driver License or the ability to obtain one within six months of hire. The city will consider a training assignment.
