About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intermediate Care Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1 year License: Active license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Experience with tracheostomy cares Experience with BiPap Experience with stroke management Experience with IV titration Description: The unit has 23 beds with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3-4. RNs are required to titrate drips. Common diagnoses include stroke, cardiac issues, sepsis, and surgical patients. Common titratable drips include heparin, nitroglycerin, cardizem, levophed, cardene, and precedex. Charge nurses are available 24/7 and typically do not take a patient assignment. Patient care techs assist, generally covering 8-23 patients each. RNs troubleshoot equipment such as CPAP, BiPap, and high flow. Telemetry technicians observe rhythms, but nurses are responsible for interpreting strips. The shift schedule consists of 12-hour shifts, with weekend rotation based on unit needs. Holidays are typically covered every other holiday. Floating to other units may be required, excluding certain areas. Professional scrub attire is required.
