About the Position

Job Title: RN - Cardiac Cath Lab Profession: Nursing Specialty: RN - Cardiac Cath Lab Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 10hr Day Shift Hours per Shift: 40 Experience: Minimum 3 years of nursing experience in Cath Lab License: RN License required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, RCIS (Preferred) Must-Have: - EPIC experience - Comfortable with EKG/cardiac strip interpretation - Art line and CVP line management - Critical/cardiac gtts experience - Impella and IABP experience - Conscious sedation skills - Transvenous/temp pacing and transcutaneous pacing experience Description: This position involves working in a cardiac cath lab setting. The facility has 3 labs and 1 hybrid operating room. The daily procedure volume is approximately 12-15 procedures. Patient types include outpatient and inpatient interventional cardiac services, adult only. Patients may present with cardiogenic shock or require diagnostic catheterizations. Interventional procedures include thrombectomy, stenting, right heart catheterizations, and device placements, among others. The patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:1. Required skills for RNs include EPIC experience and competence in various cardiac procedures. Technical staff must have experience in the cath lab and knowledge of aseptic technique. Support on the unit may include certified nursing assistants and charge staff based on staffing levels. The charting system used is EPIC. Experience with specific equipment such as Zoll defibrillator and Phillips Fluoro machine is essential. Weekend rotation includes on-call shifts, approximately 7-9 shifts per month. A 30-minute response time is expected for on-call. Self-scheduling is utilized for call shifts. Holiday expectations will vary based on staffing needs. Scrubs are provided for procedural use.
