Health Information Management Technician

To support the Health Information Management team, the remote Health Information Management Technician II will accurately process medical records, manage the release of information, and verify documentation deficiencies while ensuring compliance with HIPAA and other regulations. Key responsibilities: Manage daily interactions with providers and the public to facilitate requests for patient information and ensure compliance with release of information policies Verify medical record content, report discrepancies, and monitor documentation deficiencies to maintain accurate patient records Prepare and submit birth certificate information in accordance with state regulations, while assisting patients with paternity declarations Required qualifications: Two years of experience in a Health Information Management Department Experience in scanning and/or release of information Customer service experience working with the public Graduate from an accredited school of Health Information Technology or Management preferred Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) preferred
