Registered Nurse - CVOR

Job Description

Job Summary:
The CVOR Registered Nurse provides specialized perioperative care to patients undergoing cardiac surgeries, including open-heart procedures. They collaborate with surgical teams to deliver safe, efficient, and compassionate nursing care in a high-acuity environment.

Responsibilities:

• Administer preoperative assessments and prepare patients for cardiac surgical procedures.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Monitor patient vital signs and respond to intraoperative changes promptly.
• Maintain sterile technique and assist during surgical procedures, including scrubbing in as needed.
• Document all aspects of patient care accurately and in compliance with hospital policies.
• Support patient recovery and provide post-operative education and care instructions.

Qualifications:

• Hold an unencumbered Oregon RN license.
• Possess current Healthcare Provider Level BLS certification.
• Maintain AHA ACLS certification.
• Have at least one year of circulating nurse experience in the OR or completion of an approved didactic pre-operative nursing course.
• Bring two years of ICU, PCU, or medical/surgical acute care experience.
• Prefer candidates with one year of CVOR or open-heart surgery experience.
• Scrubbing experience is desirable.
