The employer is a cryptocurrency launchpad for the Solana blockchain that enables users to create tokens and trade them immediately on the platform, as well as to launch them onto decentralized exchanges. With over 6 million meme coins launched on the platform, it is one of the fastest-growing crypto applications and one of the biggest drivers of the explosive growth in memecoins on the planet. They are hiring a Staff Backend Engineer (on-site/in person) in London - UK or New York - USA.

MISSIONS

• Own the hardest backend problems across the system, from performance bottlenecks and scaling limits to correctness and reliability under load
• Set technical direction for core backend systems, making principled architectural decisions that balance speed, quality, and long-term maintainability
• Design, build, and operate distributed services that run in production and are relied on daily
• Identify systemic issues early and drive them to resolution, even when the problems are ambiguous or cross-cutting
• Raise the bar for backend engineering by mentoring peers, reviewing designs and code, and modelling strong engineering judgment

STACK

• Languages: Rust, Golang or Typescript
• Requirements
• Have built and operated distributed systems at scale multiple times
• Strong experience in Rust, Go, or TypeScript
• Deep knowledge of databases and data modelling, including tradeoffs around consistency, performance, and reliability
• Known for solving problems others couldn't
• High-agency and ownership-driven, able to take ambiguous problems and drive them to concrete outcomes without waiting for direction
• Crypto experience is a plus, but not required
• Knowledge of web3 infrastructure, node operation, or blockchain security is a plus
