Sr. Civil Inspector

Job Description Hill International is seeking a Sr Civil Inspector in Pomona, California. Responsibilities Oversees all civil construction work. Ensures that the services provided to the customer meet internal and external regulatory requirements. Creates and delivers reports on all ongoing construction, quality of work, and scheduled maintenance. Documents the location of installed facilities on as-built drawings and prepares required supporting documents in accordance with departmental policies and procedures. Coordinates changes to projects in accordance with contract documents and/or department policies and procedures with both internal and external customers. Collaboratively tasks projects with contractors and provides technical support to Local and Tech Planning regarding design issues. Interfaces with internal personnel and outside agencies; making decisions in the field which may impact the efficiency of field crews and work order closings. Reviews, authorizes, validates, and tracks assigned/proposed work scopes and completed work scopes at the field level, plus approves Field Change Orders in Ariba. Performs contractor field safety assessments; creates and maintains a safety‑conscious work environment by leading and influencing others to follow Edison safety protocols and safe work practices. Updates work orders (WOs) in ClickSchedule for non-UGC-source work and ensures UGC-source contractors update WOs in ClickSchedule post‑award work. Ensures warranty corrections are completed, inspecting work for safety and quality. Requires up to 75% travel to job sites within service territory. Qualifications 5+ years experience inspecting utility UG infrastructure. Valid Class C Driver’s License. Experience with utility underground construction practices, specifications, and requirements, including the Underground Structures Manual, GO128 and related industry standards preferred. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. 2+ years managing multiple tasks with conflicting schedules and limited timelines. Experience performing inspections, providing technical support, identifying compliance issues, and recommending corrective actions. Experience evaluating project effectiveness, monitoring progress, reallocating resources, reporting on status, and implementing changes as needed. Experience documenting installed facilities locations on as-built drawings and preparing supporting documentation. Experience preparing and delivering reports to peers and/or management. Experience managing risk and safety appropriately and providing exceptional service to internal and external customers. Electric utility experience preferred. Must be local to Southern California. 5 days/week at job sites or Pomona office when not in the field. Compensation & Benefits Salary range: $115,000 - $135,000, based on qualifications, education, experience, and work location.
