Medical Assistant (MA) - Primary Care

Location: Calcutta, OH (Physician Office)

Status: Full-Time, Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

About the Role

Southwoods Health is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our Primary Care team in Calcutta, Ohio. Operating within a provider office environment, this role partners directly with physicians and healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional, comprehensive, and patient-centered clinical and administrative care.

Essential Duties

Patient Care: Room patients in a timely manner utilizing two unique patient identifiers.
Clinical Documentation: Accurately measure and record vital signs, chief complaints, current medications, and allergies in the patient chart.
Laboratory Support: Collect and prepare laboratory specimens following strict storage and transport protocols; promptly report critical lab values or adverse reactions to the provider.
Administrative Operations: Manage appointment scheduling, answer phone lines, maintain medical records, and handle filing as needed.
Customer Service: Create a welcoming, professional, and friendly clinic environment for patients and visitors.
Compliance & Safety: Respect patient rights and responsibilities while ensuring the office maintains strict compliance with all relevant regulatory agencies.

Qualifications

Experience: Minimum of 1+ years of direct patient care experience.
Diverse Backgrounds Welcome: We actively encourage applications from individuals with experience as an STNA, Phlebotomist, CNA, or Pharmacy Technician.
Education: Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program is preferred, but all candidates with relevant clinical experience are welcome to apply.
Skills: Strong multitasking abilities in fast-paced clinic settings, exceptional customer service, and proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) databases.
